What we do
Five things, done by the same crew
We handle the build and the upkeep. That means the person who set your patio is the person who comes back in March to check on it.

Hardscaping
Bluestone patios, brick walks, granite steps and retaining walls. We dig proper base depth so frost heave does not lift your stone in February.

Planting and green spaces
Beds, hedges, lawns, shade trees and container gardens. Plant lists built for road salt, north facing walls and the shade that tall buildings throw.

Maintenance
Weekly or every other week from April through November. Mowing, pruning, bed edging, seasonal color swaps and two leaf cleanups in the fall.

Irrigation and lighting
Drip lines sized bed by bed, spray zones for lawn, and low voltage path and uplighting. Spring startups in April, blowouts before the first hard freeze.

Specialized urban work
Roof decks, courtyards, alley gardens, dock planters and streetscape beds. We deal with the freight elevator, the weight limits and the city permits.
Recent project
A South End roof deck with real soil in it
The owners wanted a garden, not a row of pots. We worked with a structural engineer on load, brought everything up in a freight elevator over three mornings, and built cedar stairs down to a lower terrace. The beds hold juniper, sedum, little bluestem and two serviceberries.
